I
sometimes walk through our buildings when there is no one else here
(it doesn't happen very often).
All is still, except for the occasional sound of the heating system
and the blinking lights on computers and other office equipment. The
experience drives home to me the fact that our buildings and what's in
them serve no purpose by themselves. All our facilities, our plans,
even the toys in the nursery and the Bibles in the pew racks, are
just so much potential until the halls begin to fill with people
seeking God.
Our
church is not a place. Our church is the people, those who come here
as individuals and join together as a community, a family. Some come
as explorers looking for a new beginning. Some come as believers seeking
to be refreshed. Others are committed followers of Jesus Christ
looking for a deeper relationship through worship, education,
service, and fellowship in a like-minded congregation.
Wherever
you are in life and in your spiritual quest, opportunities abound
here at Northwest Chapel. You can find answers to your questions
about God and the Bible. You can receive help in crises both large and
small. And, you can connect with people like yourself who are in the
process of becoming disciples of Jesus Christ.
